Swiss Germans always try to remember your name when speaking on the phone. Even if you cold call and briefly mention your name, they will write it down and at the end of the conversation you will hear a nice “Goodbye, Mr. Wilkinson.” This custom is not common in other parts of Switzerland and as a foreigner you are not expected to play the same memory game.
