| How can you open Swiss bank accounts with such low minimum balance Home > Swiss bank accounts > FAQ > Before you order > Our services > Low minimum balance Many people tell us how they tried to open a Swiss bank account but were stopped by the large minimum deposits that Swiss banks were expecting. Indeed most banks in Switzerland only accepts account starting with one million Swiss francs. Many people find this limit unreasonable but banks will not change it. The reason why most Swiss banks ask for a minimum balance is simple. The more money there is on an account, the more profitable it can be for the bank. Accounts with a low balance are just not worth opening in most bank's opinions. But the balance after which an account starts to be interesting is not the same for every bank. Some do not want to hear about accounts of less than a million Swiss francs, whereas others are satisfied with only a few thousand Swiss francs. We spend a lot of time visiting banks to find first rate, long established Swiss banks willing to offer services to Swiss and international clients with lower minimum balance requirements. Sometimes banks will consider all our clients as a whole and accepts smaller clients in exchange for large ones. You, as a client, benefit from this greater flexibility. |
